Sunflower Pellets
Pellets are biofuel made from sunflower husks. They are compressed, cylindrical pellets with an average length of 5 to 10 cm and a diameter of about 6 cm. The energy value of pellets is quite high, because they have a high density and do not contain moisture. Burning two kilograms of such pellets is equivalent to burning one liter of liquid fuel.
Pellets from sunflower husks have a huge advantage over traditional fuels:
- High energy concentration: the calorific value of pellets is 4.3-4.5 kW / kg. This value is comparable to coal and 1.6 times higher than that of wood. In fact, burning 1000 kg of pellets from husks releases the same amount of heat energy as burning 685 liters of heating oil, 500 liters of diesel fuel, 479 m3 of natural gas or 1600 kg of wood;
- Pellets are a safe and environmentally friendly fuel. Its combustion releases the same amount of CO2 as the natural decomposition of the biomass used for its production. Pellet production consists only in pressing sunflower husks under high pressure, without the addition of chemical additives;
- Pellet combustion in a boiler furnace is more efficient: the amount of residue (ash) does not exceed 1.0-3.0% of the total amount of pellets used;
- The undeniable advantage of pellets from sunflower husks is their storage conditions. Sunflower husk granulate is characterized by low flammability, which means that this material can be stored in close proximity to heated objects. Since pellets do not absorb moisture, their ability to release heat does not decrease over time, which does not require special storage conditions. In addition, this type of fuel takes up little space, is lightweight and easy to transport and store;
- Relatively low cost compared to coal, fuel oil and gas. Sunflower husk granulate
